More Time to Pay Development Levy for Tourist Hotels in Sri Lanka

According to the statement of a Cabinet office, Sri Lankan tourist establishments hit hard by April’s Easter Sunday suicide bomb attacks which sharply reduced arrivals will be given more time to pay a one percent levy on turnover.One percent of turnover have been paid as the  Tourism Development Levy byTourist hotels and shops and travel agents registered with the Sri Lankan Tourism Development Authority.(SLTDA)

Futrhermore, he stated that theCabinet of ministers this week approved a proposal to suspend payment of the levy for six months from January 1, 2019 and to allow establishments to pay the arrears in 12 instalments
